I’ve been using Firefox browser for a while now and I am very satisfied with it. It’s can be easily navigated and another great thing about it is that it can be enhanced in a lot of ways, mainly using Add-Ons.
Initially I didn’t know what are these add-ons, and just recently I discovered that these are really little things you can include in your browser to make your internet life a whole lot easier and less messier! Add-ons are small pieces of software that can add new features on your Firefox. This browser have a wide array of add-ons you can choose from to suit your needs.
Here’s my list of neat add-ons:
-
LINKY – i love this! If you’re into entrecard or you like surfing a lot then grab this add on. It helps you manage the links you want to visit. It doesn’t stop at text links, it even includes photo links and you can open then in tabs or windows with just a click!
-
THEME ADD-ONS – if you like aesthetics and would like to customize the look of your browser, then personalize it using Firefox themes. You can actually choose from a lot of categories like sports, modern, compact, retro etc.
-
ADBLOCK PLUS – hate pop-ups, banners? I get seriously annoyed with these things because it takes sometime for a page to load. Ad-Block Plus allows you to do away with advertisements..
-
CUSTOMIZE GOOGLE – using Google Search a lot? this is a great add-on , it enhances Google search results by adding extra information and removing unwanted information (like spa, ads etc.)
-
YAHOO TOOLBAR – makes my life easier with easy access to my yahoo bookmarks, yahoo mail notifications, search suggestions, anti-spy and more!
-
DELICIOUS BOOKMARKS – integrates your browser with delicious, so you can search and browse bookmarks, access bookmarks from any computer, organize bookmarks with tags, share bookmarks with friends, and import existing bookmarks.
-
STUMBLEUPON ADD-ON – stumbling on new site is one of my favorite pastimes and this add-on really helps me out in discovering new sites with just a click! A great way to connect with friends, share what you have stumbled upon..
-
COOLIRIS PREVIEWS – with just a mouse over any link, and the Cooliris preview window immediately appears to show you the content.
-
FireFTP – secure, cross-platform FTP client for Firefox which provides easy access to FTP servers. Transferring of files have never been so quick and efficient.
-
DICTIONARY – works well and it even has spell-checking feature.
-
VIDEO DOWNLOADHELPER – DownloadHelper is a tool for web content extraction. Its purpose is to capture video and image files from many sites. It’s is so easy to use, when DownloadHelper detects it can do something for you, the icon gets animated and a menu allows you to download files by simply clicking an item. It works with YouTube, MySpace, Google videos, DailyMotion, Porkolt, iFilm, DreamHost and others.
-
FOXYTUNES – I can’t work without some music blaring on my ears, so I have FoxyTunes on my browser. FoxyTunes lets you control almost any media player and find lyrics, covers, videos, bios and much more with a click right from your browser.

Nice plugins! My favorite is SEO Quake. It helps for search engine marketing. FF is so flexible, that I am sure many more plugins will be available!
