I just found this interview in Today Show interesting mainly because it failed to discuss mom blogging and its concerns to the fullest, more so because I think the interview should not have been done by Katie Lee Gifford. It’s quite obvious she doesn’t know her subject and admits herself she is afraid of computers.

Watch the clip and tell me what you think..

I was expecting the show to offer good discussion since Mom Blogging is getting more and more popular now, and as a mom blogger I was hoping it would be discussed thoroughly not only as a publishing and advertising medium but more of a social community. The first segment was fine since the focus of the discussion was on the business aspects of mom blogging.

But the second segment featuring Heather Armstrong of Dooce.com being interviewed by Hoda Kotb, co-hosted by Katie Lee Gifford was a real disappointment. What should have been a segment about mom’s blogging, talking about their lives, earning a living, and the blogging community was just dismissed by KLG as invasion of privacy.

I think all interviewers should be well acquainted with their topics before doing any interviews and I find it funny it’s KLG who raised the issue of privacy, when she talks about her kids on TV everyday! And to address her concern, bloggers should use a fair amount of discretion and it’s really up to the person blogging to set their limitations.
