I’m mightily curious about this.. How do you write your posts? Are you the pen and paper type or do you directly draft your posts online or do you draft using word or notepad? What makes you think of interesting posts? Inspiration? Do you write anonymously or do you tell the whole world who you are?
Different people have different styles, comfort zones and interests. After a few months on the blogsphere I’ve come across awesome blogs with different writing styles, really amusing and interesting things to say and I wonder how does bloggers come up with these wonderful posts?
Usually I am the pen and paper type of blogger. I always have a small notebook with me and whenever I think of something interesting to write about, I jot it down. I love writing just before I get to bed. When you think about the day that passed you can actually get a lot of posting ideas. There are times I feel lazy, I just type up everything on the blog post editor. I’m not very good with grammar, sentence structures and such so I just write at will.
Writing like I’m talking to readers works for me.
I usually start the day checking out my Google Reader and surfing new and interesting sites. If I see something I’d like to share while surfing, then I post it right away. Since I started blogging, I’ve also learned to eavesdrop on conversations discreetly, people make intriguing observations at times don’t you think?
I blog anonymously not because I can’t stand by what I write, but because I value my privacy too and I draw the line at exposing too much online where all sorts of people could have access to personal information.
Whichever way you use to blog, the most important thing is to be yourself. I’ve actually realized you can improve by simply writing and writing more. It’s good to strive for perfection but set the “perfect” standard by your own, not by other’s style. Write about things that interests you. Whether your blogging anonymously or not, if you are yourself, people would come to like you because you are being YOU!

I try my best to keep it a balance but I always end up being conscious with grammar and choice of words being the student that I am.
I go against the youth by writing something like poetic prose. I don’t just write like the way I talk. I use figures of speech and stuff. Some find that boring and hard to understand but I really can’t help it. ^^ I’ve grown up with that writing style.

This is interesting… I grew up with a dad who was the EIC and co-owner of our local newspaper, needless to say I grew up wanting to follow in his footsteps. But writing so rigidly (journalism) never gave me any fulfillment unless there were awards to be won, and those were few and far between.
I loved keeping a diary though.
I could say anything, however I wanted to without being judged. That’s how I feel about blogging too, so I guess my blogging style is to sit in front of the laptop, think of a topic I want to write and start writing as though I were talking with someone. Heheh.

hi flisha, i guess were both the same. i treat my blog as some sort of a diary. this way i get a lot of freedom and release from life’s stresses.
i guess writing style depends also on how you view your blog.
Very nice!!
