That’s NOT my line. It’s actually Chinkee’s favorite line of the week, coz she’s trying to convince me just how adorable her new ‘pet’ is. Some of you might be a bit queasy about slimy, scaly reptiles so be forewarned.

Meet.. Rock Star, my daughter’s toy gecko..

It was actually me who gave him the name coz Chinks made me do the honors. Lol! And I think the name fits coz look at that glittery skin? Like a rockstar just about to enter the stage.

Anyway, we got Rockstar from Russian Market for $1.5 (cheap price for a ‘pet’). Last Thursday, after a short coffee break in Jars of Clay, we went to Russian Market for some retail therapy. She just went spazzing with happiness when she saw a toy snake made of similar material and I seriously thought she needed to have a session with a vision screener! Though I was also thinking this would make a great ‘prank gift’ hehe..

It’s  actually well made and the fabric is sturdy and I’m not sure what’s inside, my guess would be sand.My daughter has some really weird taste, she loves reptiles specially snakes. She even has a book with lots and lots of info and photos of different species of snakes. I could never deign to look at it without getting a creepy feeling, but she remains so fascinated with it.

Thankfully, I managed to convince her to let go of the snake version of Rockstar. I know for sure she’s going to place that one in our bed when we sleep and I can’t help but feel creepy again. What if I’m in the middle of dreaming and accidentally touched that? What with that slimy outer cover? That would set me off for sure!

She’s been trying to convince me to love Rockstar just like my baby coz she said ‘Mommy, you’re like his grandma!” No way! I wanna be  a grandma someday but not to a green gecko!
