I was beyond ecstatic when I heard her sing this. No, don’t ask me to translate coz the only word I understood was ‘soursdei’ which means hello. Anyway,  let me just share an audio recording of the kiddo singing a Khmer song.

She has been taking Khmer lessons for the past two months already and so far she could now read the Khmer alphabet, can count and do simple math in Khmer and read and write very basic words in Khmer.

This is what we really wanted for her. After all, being multi-lingual is really advantageous and since she is half-Khmer then I want her to learn the language, the culture. I also remember one professor before in a teacher’s university in the Philippines once told me that kids usually have a greater capacity to learn languages before 12 so I think kiddo is doing beautifully.

Proud momma, am I?
