American Idol: It’s David vs. David

So I’m making a prediction. AI Season 7 winner would be David.

I was not really surprised by this outcome. I think Syesha Mercado was getting good and hot but she just didn’t have the fanbase to pit her against the two Davids. I think she would do well as a Broadway star ( she’s got the groove ;P).

I’m going to biased. I love David Cook. For a lot of reasons I think he should be the winner. He’s a total package, is not afraid of going out of the box. He has tremendous stage presence and if he has an album, I wouldn’t think twice about buying it.

As for David Archuleta, he was my pick at the start of the season (:P i didn’t even notice Cook that time), he’s cute, looks cuddly and I want to pinch his cheeks (that’s the mommy in me talking) and he has a lovely voice. But as the weeks wore on I was seriously getting tired of his performances. It was good, but not exceptional. In other words, he’s boring. I mean you cannot see depth of emotion when he sings blues coz he’s still so young and to sing blues you need to experience life first to provide the song the emotion it deserves. Added to that compared to Cook’s confidence and stage presence, Archuleta is just plain awkward and uncomfortable on stage. For now, if David A., makes an album, I don’t its worth my money, I mean should I listen to songs that all sound the same and halfway through it I almost always feel my eyelids drooping.He has a lot of growing up to do and once he gets out of his “stage dad’s” shadow, I think he would really be a great singer/performer.

AI is definitely not a looking cute, hot popularity contest. It’s a singer/performer competition and both David’s have shown what they can do. Whew! I’m feeling sad now. It would soon be over and my addiction would be cured. Cheers to the two David’s!

   My hubby thinks Cook will get it, too. But I have a soft spot for Archuleta – he awakens my maternal instincts, he he he! Unless he is singing, he has this little lost boy aura.

   Anyway, may the better David win. As they stand now, they are both winners, anyway.
