slimming_1203Every time a new year starts, haha! I always make a resolution to get into shape, to lose a gazillion pounds, to fit into my old clothes, to no avail.

After I gave birth to my daughter five years ago, I’ve been struggling to lose the extra pounds. We have also decided to use Norplant hormone implants for birth control but this didn’t help with my “lose weight” project, it just made it worse coz one of its side effects was weight gain.

Another factor is that I am just too lazy to exercise. There are times I get inspired to try out a new workout but when I get busy, well I just slack of after a few weeks.

I don’t really eat that much but my metabolism is just ridiculously slow so I really have to make efforts to burn whatever I eat. I also have the tendency to binge when I am stressed out or unhappy.

There was a time, I got so self-conscious that I tried other kinds of weight loss methods. I’ve tried sauna belts, diet pills, starving myself, rubbing stuff on my body which didn’t really have much effect and if it did, it would just be gone after awhile.

After that I’ve gotten so comfortable with how I weighed that I have thought this is just normal and no need to do something about it.

This time though, I realized I’m quite young but there are times I constantly lack energy, its easier for me to get sick, and here in Phnom Penh I just found, its tough to go shopping for clothes if you are a size L or XL.I am also scared of the medical conditions associated with extra weight like hypertension, diabetes etc.

So I’ve made up my mind to lose 40-50 pounds this year, the right way..
