Yesterday night I was planning to at least reciprocate the drops Entrecarders have made on this blog for the past week since I was away. But nature it seems wants me to postpone that.
We all woke up early to attended hubby’s graduation at the PICC and the ceremony finished past noon. When we went out I was already hungry, it was really hot then when we got home, heavy rains poured. And that is my best migraine trigger – hungry and stressed out plus extreme weather temperature.
I know some of you guys have to live with migraines too and the pain could be really excruciating. When I have my attacks it really keeps me from doing things I need to do and at times it lasts for a day or two. It actually took me sometime to learn about the symptoms, the triggers and what treats it.
Bright lights and loud sounds can really increase the pain so its best to take a rest in a quiet, cool and dark spot. Avoid trigger foods first. I actually kept a migraine journal before and I took note of what foods triggers migraine for me. A cold compress is a great help too..
Last night that what I just did and this morning I felt really relieved and ready to work..

I have had migraines for over 40 years. Recently my doctor had me start trying over-the-counter magnesium tablets as a preventative (one a day normally, two a day when I get a migraine) and they really help.
I have migraine too and I have recently pin-pointed what triggers it – PMS, stress, processed dairy and too strong coffee. To fight it – rest, peace and quiet in a dark room and 500mg of Dolfenal. Oopps! Sorry but I swear by this brand.
hehehe
mine is always triggered by bright lights and stress … good thing paracetamol always work for me … i already asked the doctor if it’s safe to take paracetamol for my migraines and he said it is, as long as i don’t overdose
