I did write in my previous post that I have resolved to lose extra pounds since the new year started.I’ve also decided to lose the extra pounds the right and healthy way. I have tried fast and drastic solutions and I did lose some weight before but I just gained it all back. SO this time, I want to do it slow but with lasting effects.

I don’t intend to be thin, I just want to have my ideal healthy weight for my height, which should be 120-130 lbs. With my current weight of 169 lbs, I have to lose around 40-50 lbs within the year.

I’ve been drawing up a plan on how I would achieve this. A friend of mine suggested I use Decaslim, but I am wary of those things. I have decided to use a combination of exercise and diet to achieve my weight loss goals.

For my exercise, I have started to have at least 30 minutes aerobic exercise daily. I also add dancing, jumping rope, hula hoop routines for at least 20 minutes.I have also taken up regular brisk walking exercises at least thrice a week. Instead of taking a ride, I’m now making it a habit to just walk if the place I am going to is just near.

For my diet, I am cutting back on all sugar and white bread, oils, and junk foods. I’m now into more whole grain cereals and bread, grilled, boiled, or steamed fish, lean meat and vegetables plus more servings of fruits.Since, I exercise regularly, I’ve also increased my fluid intake.

I know sometime soon I will crave old favorites like ice cream, chocolate or french fries and I’ve been thinking how could I manage it. I’ve decided now not to deprive myself of those tempting foods, but instead I could just have a small portion just to satisfy the craving or I could look for substitute like yogurt for ice cream..

I’m keeping a log on my progess and things are looking up. Right now I’m starting to feel the benefits of regular exercise as well as good diet can do. I feel energized, less stressed out and I feel really good. Now I just have to store up on enough diligence and discipline to maintain a healthy lifestyle so I could achieve my ideal weight.
