Three Things..

Chinks has been watching a Bratz episode where the girls met a girl genie and she gave each of the Bratz wishes. After watching that she asked me, if I meet a genie and she gives me 3 wishes. What will my wishes be? I asked her what are the kind of wishes allowed. She said in the movie, cannot ask for a lot of money, eternal life or more wishes.

So we settled on three material things I wouldn’t mind having for free. I asked her first what she wants and here’s her list:

(1) a pet dog (hayyy, sowee baby, mommy the genie cannot give you this one..)

(2) a mobile phone (maybe when she’s old enough..)

(3) a ‘real’ laptop (huh!?! kids of today..)

Here’s mine..

(1) a purple camera – I know I can buy this but I’m holding out because of the weight-loss bargain I made myself. But I wouldn’t mind if a genie gave it to me..

(2) a new blogging notebook – I’m getting one soon but if I could get it free why not? In case a benevolent soul is reading this, I want the Lenovo Ideapad S10-3Premium Mini..

(3) one year supply of lotions, creams, and body scrub – I’m not exceedingly vain but I do take care of my skin very well. I drink lots of fluid, eat veggies, cleanse, tone and moisturize regularly. And I’ve also been reading some wrinkle cream reviews just so I could get ahead and prepare for the inevitable.. lol!

Living in Phnom Penh: Yesterday and Today..

Personal Blog Update

I’ve been in a foul mood since yesterday. No reason at all, I’m just so moody. I spent a good part of yesterday cleaning the house which is really weird because I don’t like doing this when its so hot. I also did the laundry and even stripped all beds of sheets so I could just have some more to wash. I feel so weird, Chinks keep asking me if I’m going to have her little brother now.

I don’t think so. It’s just my hormones acting up  I think. This morning I woke up late, which is again weird considering that I’m always up early even if there’s no classes or work. But at around 8 am I was already in the market buying our food for next week and I also bought ingredients for ginataan. When I got home I cooked that and also made tinola for lunch then promptly fell asleep at around 11 am.

Around 2 pm I was hungry so I had some lunch. The I showered again, then dragged Hi-ace and Chinks to Sovanna Mall to look for some weird movie in DVD to watch tonight. I found nothing but Chinks found ‘Happy Feet’ in DVD so that’s our  entertainment for tonight. I’ll just be scouring torrents again for some movies tomorrow.

We dropped by the grocery coz I wanted to have some eye cream but found nothing that would suit me. I’ll probably be heading over to U-care to look for it tomorrow.

We were about to go home when Chinks announced that she’s starving. I asked her what she wanted to eat, she said spaghetti. Then she pointed at Lucky Seven fast food, a local chain that we haven’t tried yet. I must admit I was a bit turned off by the ambiance like its old but since she wanted it we gave in. She had her spaghetti, which tasted good but a little on the hot side so she didn’t finish it all. I had a ‘Kong Sandwich with drinks and fries’, I liked the bread and it turned out quite tasty. Hi-ace had rice, which he said was just fine.

That’s how the past two days was for me. Now I’m just finishing this up, then I’m waiting for Rafael Nadal’s game..

From Frustrated to Excited

I Got Frustrated..

Because I thought I managed to save our photos from Kep from being lost when my PC was reformatted.. That’s what I thought. I have two hard disks, one containing my OS/Programs and the other one for data. When I reformatted the drive for the OS all things in my data disk was not affected so I was ecstatic that I wouldn’t be losing any important data save for the bookmarks in my browsers.

But last night when I was about to post more photos of Kep, I couldn’t find it! I was ready to tear my hair out when I remembered I didn’t save it to my data disk but on my main disk. I was in a hurry that time coz we were leaving for Siem Reap..

What else can I do? Nada.. I’m just so frustrated..but I’d rather not deal with it so I just decided to get excited.. How does one induce excitement? Easy for me.

Then excited..

I simply thought about our impending one-month vacation to my home province- Albay, Philippines! Yipeee..I really, really miss the place and mostly my parents. We’ll also be taking a lot of side trips so I’m so excited. Chinks is also looking forward to it. She has a lot of ‘pet chickens’ there and she said she’s excited to count them already..

Mayon Volcano, Philippines

It’ll be a month of catching up with my parents, eating a lot of Bicol foods (laing and bicol express, here I come!), daily swimming or walking near the beach (our place is just a few minutes away from the beach), doing some gardening (err really sitting down on Mama’s outdoor cushions and reading books, while she does the gardening bit), catching up with friends.. Just lazy activities like these with people I really miss makes me really excited..

Mama's Garden

Mama's Garden

Mama and Papa has a huge garden.. Keeps them busy and healthy..and us, a place to laze around..

One more month to go…

Some Things I Just Don’t Get

Posted by on May 25, 2010 in Lifestyle + More, Living in Phnom Penh | 2 comments

I was sitting, staring at some classified ads from BongThom.com, a popular Khmer classified ads website. I’ve been browsing it for some ideas on real estate coz I wanted to have some ideas about current prices. I’ve decided to make  a long-term goal to buy another lot a little farther from the Phnom Penh city (maybe on the outskirts) and build another house maybe in the next ten years hehe..

The way Phnom Penh is going right now with the construction boom, its an easy guess that the city will be bursting, and expanding really fast. So, were thinking of getting some place a little farther out but still accessible to the city. I want one where I could have a garden..

But I digress, this post is really about Hi-ace. I was reading the ads, when he gave me a nudge and asked me to move over coz he saw something interesting. It’s  pretty easy for me to guess what he’ll be looking at – cars for sale!

That’s one of those things I just don’t get about guys (and really I don’t wanna bother understanding now..), well most of them are so into cars. Hi-ace wants to buy one. But we’ve been stalling coz our house right now does not have a parking space and we have to rent a parking spot some hundred meters from the house. Another reason is the budget. We’ll be doing a some traveling this year, plus he’ll be in another country for a few months so I prefer to have some funds to back me up.

I realize its a necessity here in Phnom Penh but I told him to just hold out and perhaps we could look for one when he gets back in December or early next year. I think I’d want to look at second-hand cars first, maybe Corolla foreclosures so we can get the best value?

Hayy! What is it with guys and cars anyway? It’s like they have this special relationship while for me, I’m really not that into it. The way I see it, its just a way to get from point A to point B. That’s it. While, Hi-ace.. he’s really into it.. hmm..Maybe I should just buy him a toy car eh?

Cutie Kiddie Wardrobe..

Posted by on May 17, 2010 in Lifestyle + More, Living in Phnom Penh | 2 comments

Yesterday, I mentioned in a post that I was going to do some office furniture shopping and I was looking for a nice and comfy swivel chair so I could blog and write for hours sans the back pains.

Hubby and I went out, hopped from store to store and we ended up a store near Sovanna Mall. But instead of checking out things I’ve been planning to buy, I got sidetracked by a cute pink wardrobe for kids. I guess I bought it on impulse but it was cute, nicely made, 3-door wardrobe cabinet, with two drawers on the right side and adjustable height dividers on the top right area. It so happened that I’ve been looking for something for Chinks, and had been checking out some unique gifts for her. I was pretty sure this would make her giddy with happiness.

Cute Pink Kiddie Wardrobe

So girlie!

It’s just so girlie girlie that she was jumping with glee when she saw it. And as for me, I’m just glad she has extra storage for her stuff and I have also been starting to train her how to get organized and take care of her things by herself.

What do you think? Cute, right? And I bought for only $70..Even though I didn’t get to buy what I set out to buy, I’m still tickled pink about this kiddie wardrobe.
