Back in Phnom Penh..

Posted by on Jul 3, 2011 in Lifestyle + More, Random Thoughts | 0 comments

This is just a short quickie post. I just wanna buzz people who drop by this blog that, yep! I’m still alive. Lol! I know I’ve been out of sorts and so busy the past weeks and this blog went really stale. But now I’m back and hopefully, I could get back to regularly updating the site in the next few days.

For now, I’m concentrating on resting. I need it really badly. Several weeks of 1-2 hrs daily sleep has seriously made me look like a raccoon. Then I think I need some pampering. For the past week I keep experiencing leg cramps, so I think I need some serious session in a spa. I think its time I pay attention to myself coz the past weeks has really been nerve wracking, and I was on the verge of being depressed. Hubby thinks I’m not on the ‘verge’ of depression but I am actually depressed. Maybe he’s right. Just this morning, I was standing in the duty free shop and was picking up stuff to buy without thinking, like I was in a haze. Good thing I didn’t get electronic cigarette wholesale, otherwise now I’d be wondering what I’d do with it.

What I just got were several bottles of wine (???) and lots of chocolates. Now I don’t know why I bought them..

List of Phnom Penh Classifieds + More Useful Sites

Posted by on Mar 15, 2011 in Cambodia, Living in Phnom Penh, News and Trivia | 1 comment

Where to find this and that. That’s the usual expat dilemma when moving and living in a new place. Come to think of it, I’ve been here close to three years already and I still find myself constantly doing classified searches. So I decided to compile a list of my favorite Cambodia websites offering classified services and more.

{If you know of other sites not mentioned here, kindly leave a comment or email me via my contact page so I could update the list..}

Classifieds:

(1)  Bong Thom – well known classified site here in Cambodia. Offers classified listings as well as job listing. This is usually one of the first sites I visit when I am looking for something.  Though the site is not so aesthetically pleasing and sometimes can be confusing to navigate from too much text and bling blings, I have to give it credit for having great categorization. All classifieds have categories so it’s much easier to look for what you want. Another plus is their RSS feeds readily available for you to subscribe. If you have a RSS reader, just subscribe to their feeds and you can easily get updated.

(2) Classifieds Cambodia – another free Cambodia classified site. Easy to navigate and well organized. Plus factor? Thumbnail feature, where you can have a quick view of the items/services on offer.

(3) Expat Advisory Forum – Classifieds –  A well known Cambodia expat forum with classified ads listings. Worth checking out. You can also get advice on where to get hard to find items.

A Big Ooops…

Posted by on Feb 23, 2011 in Blogging and Web | 2 comments

I know my blog zoned out for the past 24 hrs. My mistake really. I do apologize if you dropped by earlier and found the site routed to a dummy page. Again, for two years in a row already, I forgot to renew my domain.  It was due to expire yesterday and I was also out the whole day. The moment I got home I did not check the site, I was busy with other work.

It was only late this morning when I turned on Mozilla Thunderbird so I could check my emails and I can’t access the admin email for this blog. Lol! That’s when I realized I haven’t renewed yet. Maybe I should peg this down on the calendar already.

Anyway, I headed over to Hostgator domain registrant to renew. But I think the universe was conspiring against me. I tried paying with credit cards, a debit card but I keep getting an error. So I raised the red flag and asked for some help from their tech support and they requested me to submit a ticket so they could just arrange for me to make the payment via Paypal.

Now that’s what I love about Hostgator, fast efficient service. And they would really bend backwards to accommodate my request. I can’t speak for others but my personal experience with this company is beyond excellent. So in an hour or so I was able to process the renewal. Normally, the registrant don’t accept other forms of payment except credit or debit card. But if this won’t work or you are unable to process using said payment methods, simply contact their sales dept and they’ll issue and invoice so you can pay directly via Paypal.

Thanks Hostgator Support for again giving me the best service.

A New Blog: G-O-T-H

Posted by on Nov 4, 2010 in Blogging and Web, Living in Phnom Penh | 1 comment

Well, not really new. I had the domain for a few months already, WP installed and all but it’s only now that I was free and inspired enough to start posting.

G-O-T-H is short for Girl on A Thrift Hunt! This is something like a spin-off of this blog. If you regularly swing by this blog, then you probably know I love bargain hunting and Phnom Penh has surprisingly turned out to be a thrift hunters gold mine.

Girl on A Thrift Hunt

I’ll still keep posting some Shopping in Phnom Penh finds and buys but a lot of my thrift finds will now be posted on the new site. It’ll feature thrift shops, thrift buys, sale announcements – online and also maybe garage/yard sales announcements.

We also have plans on starting a Share-a-Thrift-Hunt Meme once everything is in place. Please do visit the site. Link exchanges and comments are welcome =)

Let Me Introduce…

Posted by on Apr 8, 2010 in Blogging and Web | 3 comments

I’ve been busy with something. Nope I haven’t been just contemplating on the shape of my navel, nor have I been learning the inner workings of a POS systems. I was simply blogging, more specifically setting up blogs! Several months ago, I bought several domains (GoDaddy has this irresistible promotion..) and I wanted to develop these domains into blogs where I could experiment with different niches and to try it different streams of income and which is most effective.

Niches I picked where of course those that I find personally interesting. I still prefer writing from a personal point of view with lots “I’s” in it. Anyway, setting up has been a slow thing since there were lots of things to distract me (namely, FB, chatting etc..) plus I am still adjusting to the way life goes here in Phnom Penh. Lately, though I’ve been on a blogging roll, so I finished setting up the first two..

One, I’ve already mentioned a few posts ago – Lui-Bloggera. This blog is mainly about trends. It’s one of my favorite pastimes – trendhunting! So, this site will be featuring the latest on fashion, entertainment, people, luxury, technology, sports and other things I find weird, unique, interesting. As I’ve said, this is where I’ll be indulging my gossiping propensities. Anyway, here’s a peek at this new site..Your comments, suggestions and link exchange requests are very much welcome..

The second one is called – Feminine Reveries and its all about what we women likes talking about.. It’ll include posts on beauty, fashion, health and fitness, dating, relationships and marriage, career and education and more things about women..This is still new with just a couple of updates thrown in so I’d appreciate comments and visits and also link ups =)
