To say that I like surfing the net would be an understatement, hehe my brother is even saying its now bordering on addiction but I do find great things of interest here. The world is full of of interesting, bizaarre, unusual, awesome things and on the net those things I can see without even leaving the comfort of my desk. I usually surf for photos, digital art, I love trends, more art, home improvement sites (I love fixing my house!), and more art.Whenever I come across something really interesting I’d usually email the site to my friends, bookmark it, give it a stumble, a digg or make a post about it.

Today, I came across Brian Walker’s Lick the Sun website. Brian Walker is “a contemporary digital artist whose images explore and exploit the realm between fantasy and reality.” What I find really interesting is the fusion of fashion and illustration in the images he creates. Here’s some of his exceptional work..

TrendHunt: Coffin Restaurants!

Posted by on Jul 13, 2008 in Fun, Offbeat, Trendy Etc. | 4 comments

I have a thing for trends and I love bizarre stuff. A few days ago I’ve posted about Toilet Dining which is now a trend in Taiwan and China. Another blogger, Eunice, left me a comment and mentioned concept restaurant in Singapore featuring wheelchairs. So I wasn’t really surprised when I came across another concept restaurant, this time in Ukraine, featuring coffins!

Coffin Restaurant_The Eternity

Coffins for me are a bit creepy but still a lot of people get inspired to design by coffins. The world’s first coffin restaurant was built by undertakers and serves up morbid, death-themed dishes. The structure of the Macabre restaurant is the world’s largest coffin at 20 meters long, six meters wide, and six meters high.

The restaurant is fittingly called The Eternity ( it sounds like a memorial garden I think). The Eternity is the brainchild of a local group of undertakers from the resort town of Truskavets near the Polish border.

Toilet Dining – Warning! Not for the Squeamish..

Posted by on Jul 3, 2008 in Fun, Offbeat, Trendy Etc., Travel | 8 comments

I’ve been blog hopping again when I dropped by Claudine143′s blog site. Guess what I found something interesting there, so interesting and for me its bordering on amazing! Some might find it disgusting but I am again fascinated by another trend and culture..

Toilet Dining_Concept Restaurant

There is a new restaurant trend now mushrooming in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. The concept? Toilet Dining! The restaurant has decked its interior with toilet bowls standing in for chairs and a sink below the tables. And it doesn’t end there, the food is served in miniature toilet bowls!

I did say in my post title that this is not for the squeamish.. If you’re prone to nausea, or if you can’t stop your brain from being overactive and imagining all sorts of things that should be done on a toilet, then this concept restaurant isn’t for you..

As for me, I’d probably try it out, just to see if I could really swallow the food hmm.. Who knows the food might be yummy.. LOl!

Naked Traveling in Germany

Posted by on Jul 1, 2008 in Fun, Offbeat, Trendy Etc., Travel | 11 comments

Nudist TravelingEver imagine being naked while on a plane? That never crossed my mind so how come I am asking that? I was surfing around and I chanced upon this and I wouldn’t dare pass up posting this.. For those dreaming of traveling in their birthday suits, then your dream won’t be far from reality. Just head over to Germany where a traveling agency is offering the first nudist holiday flights for vacationers who prefers to be al fresco when traveling.

OssiOrlaub.de
is holding a trial naked voyage this week which will leave from Erfurt in eastern Germany in July and fly to Usedom, a popular resort town in the Baltic Sea. The 55 passengers will have to stay dressed until they get on board (obviously for security reasons – just imagine if they were naked at the airport hehe) and will have to button up again before disembarking. The crew will be clothed, though for security reasons.

My imagination is now running amok lol! Just imagine, if you spill your coffee then there is nothing to protect you from being scalded and if the flight gets shaky, well cellulites will be extra jiggly. And I sincerely hope they change the seat covers after every flight..

OssiUrlaub isn’t the first to offer naked flights, but is the first in Germany. Naturism, or “free body culture” (FKK) as it is known in Germany, was banned by the Nazis but blossomed again after the Second World War, particularly in eastern Germany.

I’ve nothing against this, I am simply fascinated with different cultures, traditions and new trends and if these people are happy doing this, then let them be.
