ExerciseI find a lot of excuses not to exercise. First on the list, I DON’T HAVE TIME! I have lots of things to do.. I feel so tired..The list could be endless, but at the back of my mind, the thought that physical fitness is important keep nagging me.

So I’ve been on a hunt for some ways to exercise even when I’m working and luckily, the internet as well as my friends have great suggestions on how to keep fit even when you are at work.

  • Hand Weights @ work – Keep a pair of hand weights in your working desk. Spend at least five minutes each day doing lateral raises and bicep curls. This will help tone your arms and it would actually give you an energy boost. I’ve tried this during my bloghopping and entrecard jaunts where I could manage using just one hand to click and scroll down. The result, my arms are getting toned bit by bit..
  • Move Around – take advantage of the opportunity to stand up and move around. If you need to photocopy or print something, then don’t ask someone to do it, stand up and take the walk.
  • Use a pedometer – got this suggestion from Ma. She has one and it actually motivates her to move around if she has a target number of steps.

  • Stretch! – Develop your own series of stretching routines you can do at the office or at your desk several times a day.
  • Use the stairs at least once a day. Let the elevator go at least once and it would be a great cardio exercise for you.
  • Bring a health bar and water and opt for a walking lunch hour.
  • Mulling over a work solution? Then pace back and forth! It’s an easy and mindless way to add to steps and it gets rid of some stress and help you think clearer.

I really welcome suggestions. It would really be great if I can get work done and get some exercise while I am at it.
